After the success of last years foraging courses with Plants with Purpose, we’ve arranged another 4 dates for foraging in Edinburgh in 2012.  Two courses are in Spring where we’ll hunt for wild herbs and leaves.  Two courses will then be held in Autumn which will focus on mushrooms and berries.  The courses are £20 per person for a 2-3 hour walk and can be booked through the shop tab on our website.  If you need any further information, please e-mail info@edinburghlarder.co.uk.

We’ve teamed up with Edinburgh Local Food Network to offer a programme of exciting talks and visits based around local food initiatives. The talks are in the Larder at 15 Blackfriars Street on the 1st Thursday of the month from 7-9pm and cost just £5 for a bowl of delicious soup with artisan bread and a really inspiring talk from a range of food enthusiasts. We’ve added a second date for mushroom foraging to our events calendar this year.  Our first course in September was so popular that we’ve organised another course through Plants with Purpose.  The course begins at 10.30am and lasts for 3 hours.  It will combine identification with a forage walk so you can build a good basis of knowledge in how to forage mushrooms.   The location of the course is Blackford Hill – at the main gate leading up from Charterhall Road (please see map attached below).  Bus services 24 and 41 run from the city centre and there is also parking available at the gate where we will meet on Charterhall Road.  Please book via the ‘Shop & Events’ tab on our website.  If you have any queries, please feel free to e-mail info@edinburghlarder.co.uk or call our cafe on 0131 5566922.

We’ve organised another course through Plants with purpose after the success of our foraging course for leaves & wild herbs at the start of the summer.  The course is only £15 for 3 hours and can be booked through the shop & events tab on our website.  Directions to the location for our course are also attached below.
